Seattle, Washington,
Founded by partners with defining background in the Peace Corps, The Miller Hull Partnership believes in socially responsible and humane architecture that is strongly influenced by site and surrounding environmental conditions. Sustainable design that celebrates a connection to nature, use of local materials and structural simplicity is a hallmark of the firm’s work spanning restorative island cabins to large infrastructure projects that elevate the ordinary in the public realm. Exploring the boundaries of technology, materials and cultural context, the firm is widely recognized for its ability to evoke spirit, rather than recognizable style, in creatively addressing organizational program needs through design. Capabilities include architecture, master planning, interior design and space planning for a range of projects including public buildings and infrastructure facilities, educational and interpretive environments, as well as multi-family and private residences. Notable recent projects integrating exemplary performance metrics with outstanding design include the Bullitt Center, the first commercial Living Building, and the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry, the busiest border crossing in the world. Miller Hull has received over 300 regional and national awards for design excellence, including seven AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten Design Awards, and the distinguished AIA Firm Award–the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. architectural community.
